$BlogItemUrl$>The Migraine Treatment That Works
$BlogItemUrl$> |
I have been suffering from migraine ever since I was a teenager, and have been looking for a treatment that works for some improvement ever since. Living with migraine is like going through hell, and only a person who has experienced the pain of this condition can have an idea of what I'm talking about. That is why I have been so desperate in looking for a migraine treatment that works. Hardly anyone bothers about a headache, and I took no action for a very long time after my headaches started as well. But the headaches recurred and were accompanied by nausea and mood swings. Even the slightest of sensations like loud sounds or sunlight used to intensify the pain. Finally, I decided to consult a physician and was diagnosed with migraine. Soon I realized that I would have to live with this disease for the rest of my life. It was painful, both physically and psychologically. And nothing aggravated my pains more than stress. But to anyone who suffers from migraine, stress is almost an everyday affair. When neither can you concentrate or work, nor can engage in any activity of your choice while you are having those excruciating attacks, you can not help getting frustrated and depressed. Especially when your treatment in the form of medication fails to soothe the pain of migraine attacks. If you are suffering from migraine as well, then you are not alone. No less than 30,000,000 people in the United States, and roughly a billion are suffering from it worldwide as well, mostly females. But most of them are not aware of a migraine treatment that really works. I've undergone numerous medication and treatments prescribed by doctors, but none of them brought any relief whatsoever. In fact, some drugs even worsened my condition. This was when I felt that I had to stop being subject to experimentation and had to stop taking the hit-and-trial prescriptions. I was determined not to give my life up in the hands of this dreadful disease and vigorously searched for ways to get rid of my pain. Some other tips you might want to consider that will definitely show results are simple. You can get more exercise, even more sleep can both effect your migraines in a very much positive manner. Also living with a spouse or someone close as a caretaker can prove to be very helpful and is a great way to reduce the threat of migraines. So what is migraine treatment that works? For migraine treatment that really works, I'd suggest following these simple tips. Namely drinking lots of water, using feverfew and bay plus keeping a clear head whenever your hit by a migraine (lay down immediately) hopefully these helped you. Looking for more tips? So I started my own search. Finally, after a lot of hard work, I have found the migraine treatment that really works. Whatever treatment you adopt for your migraine, it works if it is safe and natural, and free of hazards and side effects carried by medicines. Understanding migraine and learning about it is the best migraine treatment that works, and it has worked for me. Anyone suffering from migraine can do it. It only takes a little effort to find your own migraine treatment that works. |

$BlogItemUrl$>The Signs of Gout and Gout Symptoms
$BlogItemUrl$> |
Gout is a type of arthritis that causes the inflammation of the joints. Gout mostly affects the joints of the lower body (toes, heels, ankles, knees), but it can also affect other joints (elbows, spine, shoulders and hand wrists). The disease can sometimes cause damage to skin and soft tissue (tendons and muscles), which have decreased flexibility and integrity.
The most common gout symptoms are discomfort, sourness, swelling and intense pain of the affected area. In most patients with the disease, the first gout symptoms appear at the level of the big toe. The skin around the affected regions turns yellow, appears to be stretched and bruised. People who suffer from gout usually experience pain attacks that may last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours and in some cases, even days. In most cases, the pain attacks seem to amplify at night and many people with gout have trouble sleeping. The regions affected by gout become very sensitive and people with the disease can’t tolerate clothing or shoes.
Gout is mainly caused by the accumulation of uric acid (waste product that is collected and eliminated by the kidneys through urine) inside the body. The surplus of uric acid tends to crystallize and deposit in different parts of the body. One of the most disturbing gout symptoms is the inflammation of soft tissue. Sometimes, the crystallized uric acid forms tophi, painful lumps under the skin. Sometimes, tophi may even tare up the skin, causing infections.
Gout symptoms can be ameliorated by diet and lifestyle. Keeping a proper diet is a good way of handling the effects of the disease. In some cases, good diets are even more effective in overcoming gout than the actual treatment prescribed for the disease. The treatment of gout usually deals only with local inflammation and pain, and its effects are temporary. Pain episodes and inflammation are known to reoccur even under intense medication. A good diet, however, eases gout symptoms and also minimizes their chances of reappearing. Gout diets consist mainly of low-purine foods that don’t add to the amount of uric acid in the body. By drinking plenty of water you help the kidneys excrete the surplus of uric acid (around two liters of water each day are required).
Gout symptoms also tend to amplify in the case of people who are overweight. Obesity is known to facilitate the accumulation of uric acid inside the body. Also, overweight people that suffer from gout are more exposed to injuries of the joints. It is very important to try losing the extra weight when suffering from gout.
Smoking and the consumption of alcohol are considered to be factors that support and aggravate gout symptoms. Alcohol interferes with the normal renal activity, causing the kidneys to release less uric acid through urine, while smoking seriously damages arteries, affects blood circulation and slows down the process of healing. When suffering from gout, it is very important to reduce these factors of risk, as they only cause damage to the body. |

$BlogItemUrl$>Acne Prevention - Do and Dont's
$BlogItemUrl$> |
As stated in the previous pages, pimples are not the result of poor hygiene nor are they caused by foods. Having said this, you can aggravate your pimples and worsen your condition. So pay close attention to the information on this page so as to not deteriorate your condition further.
Do's
• Use skincare products that will not 'clog pores', they are usually described as 'oil-free' and/or 'non-comedogenic' on the package.
• Skin care should include: a mild cleanser and application of a non-comedogenic sunscreen on sun-exposed surfaces.
• Gently wash your face twice a day using mild face cleanser and pat dry.
• When you are washing your face, be sure you take the time to remove all of your makeup.
• Be patient! Treatment may take a few weeks to start having useful effects.
• Remember that all of the treatments only work by preventing new spots and that all treatments have to be tried for at least four months before you decide whether they are helping.
• Some acne products can increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight and ultraviolet light from tanning booths so use protective clothing and sunscreens and avoid tanning booths.
• If irritation, dryness and peeling occur, an oil-free, non-comedogenic moisturizer can be used.
• If your skin is getting too irritated, red or dry while undergoing a topical treatment, then start using them every other day. It takes time for your skin to adapt to your new medicines.
• If you have long hair that touches your face, be sure to wash it frequently enough to keep oil away. Also wash your face after you've been exercising hard and sweating a lot. And try not to touch your face throughout the day.
Dont's
• Avoid thick, greasy make-up over affected areas. Some make-up is acceptable but try to choose "non-comedogenic" cosmetics if possible.
• Resist the temptation to squeeze your acne. This can cause the area to spread and become more inflamed and therefore more likely to scar.
• Do not use harsh soaps when washing face. Vigorously washing and scrubbing will irritate your skin and only make your acne worse.
• Avoid things that may aggravate your acne such as oils, airborne grease, irritating clothing etc…
• Avoid covering yourself with thick layers of make up, and if you do, wash it off as soon as you can, certainly do not leave on overnight.
• Avoid strongly fragranced or alcohol based products.
• Avoid from hair sprays or gels, try to keep them away from your face, as they can also clog up pores.
• Acne isn't really helped by the sun, either. Although a suntan can temporarily make acne look less severe, it won't help it go away permanently. So don't soak up those rays - either under the sun or from a tanning bed - in an effort to help your skin.
• Avoid wearing hats or headbands that rub on your forehead, since this can also make acne worse.
• Avoid touching your face a lot, as your hands have oil on them and this can make acne worse.
IMPORTANT Individual pimples can take up to 2 or 3 months to form even though they may appear to "pop-up" overnight. Thus, although there is often some initial improvement in the first few weeks after starting a new treatment, it takes at least 2-3 months of regular use before you can assess the full benefit of any acne treatment. |

$BlogItemUrl$>Anuloma-Viloma - Yogic Breathing For Better Health
$BlogItemUrl$> |
Swami Kuvalyanand once said: “Yoga has a message for the human body, for the human mind and the human spirit.”
This is a truism as a healthy body is the prime requisite for success and happiness in life. People are increasingly being convinced that yoga makes for good health, contentment and happiness in present day stressful life and is not just an exercise regimen.
In this article we will discuss Anuloma-Viloma (alternate breathing) pranayama. Pranayama simply means proper ‘management’ of the vital force - prana. Although the basic principle remains the same, many different types of pranayama have been devised, each with its own unique technique. Anuloma-Viloma or nadi shuddhi pranayama (nerve purifying pranayama) is one such kind and is considered one of the basic forms.
The practice of Anuloma Viloma is somewhat like the squad that regulates traffic on roads, looks after their cleanliness, beautification, etc and keeps the traffic moving smoothly and efficiently. The method involves breathing in (pooraka) through one nostril and vice versa. Therefore this pranayama has the name anuloma viloma, i.e. alternate breathing.
To practice this, you have to sit in any of the yogic sitting postures. To begin with, carry on normal breathing applying moola bandha (i.e. comfortable anal contraction). Keeping a stable moola bandha, breathe in and breathe out completely. Ensure that the moola bandha is not loosened during the process. Pause for a while between breathing in and breathing out. Breathe in deeply through the left nostril and breathe out through the right; then breathe in through the right and out through the left. Continue breathing this way, i.e. alternately from left and right nostrils, for one to three minutes.
After reaching a comfort level in this way, you may move to the next stage. Close the right nostril with the right thumb keeping the other four fingers together. Now, slowly breathe in through the left nostril at a uniform speed. Repeat with the other nostril. While breathing in, raise the shoulders and expand the chest taking the ribs up. The lower abdominal region, however, must be held in.
Benefits: The respiratory passage is cleaned and this prepares one well for the practice of other pranayamas. Breathing becomes easy and regulated. The mind becomes and heartbeat rhythmic. Also aids in enhancing concentration, memory and other mental faculties.
Contraindications: Severe pain in abdomen, swelling on account of appendicitis, enlargement of liver, very delicate bowels or intestines, disorders of the lungs, severe throat infections, growth in the nose (polypus) or blockage of the nasal passage due to cold, etc.
Warning: The reader of this article should exercise all precautions before following any of the asanas from this article and the site. To avoid any problems while doing the asanas, it is advised that you consult a doctor and a yoga instructor. The responsibility lies solely with the reader and not with the site or the writer. |
