What is the Best Hair Care For Your Type of Hair?

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Hair care encompasses not only how you style your hair, but also how you take care of your hair. The type of care that you have, the length and your age all factor into how you care for your hair. Your hair is one of the first things that people notice about you. When you are having a good hair day, you feel more confident in yourself.

The first thing that you need to take stock of when it comes to your hair is how you style it. Some people are stuck in a rut when it comes to hair styles. They are wearing the same style for years without realizing that it looks dated. Just as clothing styles change, so do hair styles. You should update your hair design with the times.

Color is also a consideration. Many women color their hair. This is especially true as they get older. The biggest mistake a woman can make when it comes to hair color is to go darker as she ages. This looks false and actually makes you look older. The rule of thumb is to go lighter as you get older.

When it comes to washing hair, it can be washed every day, especially if it is short. Many women will wash their hair on a daily basis simply so that they can style it. In the winter, it is often best to wash your hair every other day so that it can absorb some of the skin oil and not get dry. Longer hair can be washed less often than shorter hair.

In addition to shampoo, there are also conditioners that are used for hair washing. There are also gels and other products that you can add to your hair to make it shiny and sleek, or curly, if this is what you prefer. You should always seek out hair care products that will work with your natural hair.

If you want to straighten your hair, there are plenty of hair straightening products out there that can get you super straight hair. These include straightening irons and creams. You should make sure that straight hair suits your face shape as some people, especially those with an oblong face, tend to look better with fuller, curlier hair.

Always consider the natural texture of your hair as well as your face shape when you are choosing the right hair style for you. Choose hair care products that work best for the hair style that you are trying to achieve. There are products for virtually any type of style that you are seeking when it comes to caring for your hair.

The best type of hair care for your hair is one that will work with the style you choose, your natural texture and whether or not your hair has been colored. If you have color treated hair, always use a good conditioner to keep it feeling silky. This will also help hold in the color.

What You Need to Know When Choosing an Effective Anti Aging Skin Care System

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Looking for an effective anti aging skin care system? We all want to turn the clock back on the fine lines and wrinkles when they start to show up. The bad news is that many skin care products are all hype and don’t work. The good news is there are also products that do rejuvenate that youthful look and feel.

Don’t get sucked in by the pictures of the beautiful models endorsing any number of anti aging products. Educate yourself on the ingredients found in skin care systems and what they do. This kind of knowledge will give you the edge when trying to pick something that is really going to work.

Before touching on the good ingredients you should be looking for, let’s look at some of the things to be avoided. There are hundreds of products that are branded as anti aging creams, but they have ingredients that just aren’t skin healthy.

Some common ingredients to be avoided are:

Alcohols – You should never buy products containing ethyl alcohol, ethanol, benzyl alcohol, methanol, SD alcohol and isopropyl alcohol. Many skin creams contain one or more of these ingredients because of their anti-bacterial properties. While they are effective anti-bacterial substances, they also dehydrate. Dry skin isn’t healthy, it doesn’t rejuvenate and it certainly doesn’t look young. In fact, it is one of the classic signs of aging skin.

Parabens – These are used in products as preservatives in order to extend shelf life. Some studies have pointed to parabens as a possible carcinogen.

Whether or not this is the case, consider what paraben substances do. They act as a layer between your skin and the atmosphere. The theory is that the moisture in your skin so essential for rejuvenation is trapped and therefore your skin doesn’t dry out. True – the problem though, is that this also restricts your skin’s ability to shed toxins.

Your skin is an organ – indeed, the largest organ of your body. It “breathes” constantly. Using a paraben based cream is like putting plastic wrap on it.

Fragrances – Effective anti aging skin care systems don’t need to have any kind of fragrance. The fact is that the nice smelling fragrance in the big brand name product is caused by a chemical. They put this in there just so the product will have that alluring scent.

Some natural skin care companies will tell you that these fragrances can be carcinogenic and are likely toxic in larger amounts. Again, I don’t think any company goes around putting known harmful ingredients into skin creams – but still, understand these are chemicals you are putting on your skin and they have absolutely zero benefit – besides the pleasant smell. And it is fair to say that they do cause allergic reactions in some people. You don’t need this stuff on your skin – I stay away from anything that is advertised as scented.

Ingredients to look for

Any product you buy should have some clinical trials behind it showing its effectiveness. Look for ingredients that support the regrowth of elastin and collagen – these are the two essential proteins that make your skin strong, pliant, flexible, supple, smooth and soft. In short – young!

My personal favorite is a skin care system with a number of ingredients that do just that. One of the major active ingredients, Cynergy TK, is a natural substance that has been clinically proven to promote collagen and elastin production. I’ve not found any other system that has this.

Of course, Cynergy TK isn’t enough by itself. An anti aging skin care system has to take care of all the symptoms of age. I describe the other ingredients you should be looking for at my website.

Facial Cleansers Play a Key Role in Preventing Acne

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Not everyone has had severe acne or even significant acne, but for those who do, you understand just how debilitating it can be. You search for a solution to eliminate it, pray for the scarring to fade, yet with each new product you try, you increase the risk of further break out. While nothing may be worse than irritating your skin even further, the embarrassment of daily life with acne is motivation enough. In recent months however, there have been some significant advancements in the facial cleanser market. Significant enough advancements that new therapeutic facial cleansers are effective not only at removing the embarrassment of acne, it gets rid of the acne itself. The author examines the embarrassment of acne and how these groundbreaking facial cleansers are making the difference, many of us have been looking for.

Having acne is a tremendous disappointment to many people around the world every single day. While we are using the word embarrassment in this piece it is not necessarily just embarrassing, it promotes insecurity and causes many social phobias. Children with acne often stay separated from the mainstream because they feel they will be ridiculed, and often times they are. Adults, on the other hand, do not have the pleasure of simply being less popular. They must go to work, they must interact and they must show their face on a daily basis. While these insecurities are just as large for children with acne as they are for adults, finding an effective treatment seems all the more important the longer you have the symptoms.

Many consumers have been to doctors and the medications just don’t do the trick. They want a product that is gentle enough on their skin that it does not irritate, yet potent enough to wash away excess dirt and oils and reducing the swelling of the skin. This can be done with the right formulas, however, you need to know where to look. Therapeutic facial cleansers have established themselves as the premier facial cleanser due to the medical grade ingredients they contain. The anti inflammatory ingredients reduce swelling while astringents and gentle cleaning agents penetrate deep into the skin to remove the acne where it begins, on the middle layers of your skin. By penetrating deeper than other cleansers and ensuring that your skin is given the proper level of nutrients it needs to have clear healthy skin. They not only reduce the swelling and the redness associated with acne, they remove the cause of acne to reduce the significance of future breakouts.

It may be difficult for many to stop having acne breakouts all together, but you can certainly be sure to make them much less significant. By controlling future breakouts, and treating existing irritation of the skin these therapeutic cleansers have proven to provide just the treatment for acne suffers. The embarrassment of having acne is tough enough without having to feel like no treatment out there works for you. And giving your skin the treatment and nourishment it needs to be clear and healthy is the number one thing you need to do to eliminate acne. Therapeutic facial cleansers will do just that. They wipe away existing damage, and deliver soothing nourishment and protection from future breakouts. Dermatologists worldwide are recommending these cleansers as a daily treatment and they have rapidly become the number one acne treating cleanser in the world. If you are a sufferer of acne, do not endure one more embarrassing day, get your cleanser and wipe away your fears.
