How I Became Free From Diabetes Type 1!

January 12th, 2012

The Start

9 years old. I was out on the countryside of Sweden when I noticed I was peeing unnaturally a lot. 16 times on one night indicated that something was wrong. In the car on our way home which was a 6 hour drive, my sister was going crazy when I asked every 10 minutes for a pee-stop. I think that drive was closer to 8 hours and for my sister…ages!

Once back home, I went to my grandmother who was diabetic and tested my glucose and sure enough, it was showing 24,1 mmol/L.With that fact in hand, we went to the bigger city Örebro, 1 hour from my hometown and I had a week in the hospital before going back home with a whole new life to adjust to.

Two strange years

At the beginning my body was not acting fully as a diabetic. I didn’t have to take a lot of insulin and sometimes I didn’t even take shots. It was like I had a very light version of diabetes.

The doctors had no clue to why I was still producing insulin (that was the only conclusion they could make to why I needed so little insulin). You should have seen their faces every time I went for my check and they asked me how much insulin I was taking!

I had a hard time avoiding candy and gradually, I started to become more dependent of insulin.

Fake Diabetes

I went to different kinds of healers like a Qi Gong master from China, Kinesiolog, Acupuncturist, Massage therapist. I ate or drank a lot of different stuff (like bitter cucumber) that really helped me the first years. They all told me I had a “Fake diabetes” or something close to that statement. That it could be cured and that it had something to do with the stomach and the kidneys.

Unhealthy teenager

So it has always revolved around the food but we did not understand then. We went on and the struggled continued with being a teenager and alcohol came into the picture at age of 15.

I ate a lot of hot dogs, macaroni, pizza and a lot of sweet stuff. As you can understand my blood glucose level was like a roller coaster and my HbA1c was a disaster for almost 2 years straight! With the partying and bad food I had to fight hard to get everything in place and it did not work good at all.

The turning point

One day in April of 2008, I received a phone call from my mother. She and my father separated when I was around 3 years old because of his alcohol problems. But they have always been good friends and I am very thankful for that. Now, she called me, telling me that my father called her recently and said he had enough.

He had been struggling with this in almost 20 years but in the last years it became worse and it was a tough time for me to share a small apartment with him. The reason for this was because I got so much closer to my school.

But after hearing that he had finally realized his problem, I felt tears down my cheeks at that beach when the sun was going down that spring evening. I sat on a rock for a long time, staring and thinking of what I just heard.

All the fights and anger with my father and our family was now gone. I was so inspired that I said to myself: If he can do it after 20 years, I can do it after 2!

Thanks to my father, I am today a healthy man with a better life that I could ever imagine! Out of something bad, grows something good.

But not to forget my mother who constantly found new ways in terms of healing, food and exercises to improve me. And if it wasn’t for her constant fight to help me, I would not have been this wise to realize what I needed to do.

When I look back, I see that I could have been free much earlier. I was given great help in very different ways but since I contradicted this with wrong food, it didn’t show the results I wanted.

Food is your fuel

Two months earlier, in February of 2008 I made the choice to become a vegetarian. I saw horrible documentaries about how the animals are being treated. I do not say that eating meat is wrong. We all have our choices to make and you do what feels best for you.

I did choose the vegetarian food because of three reasons:

1.I did not wish to be a part of the slaughter of animals for making money and therefore not putting healthy meat as a priority.

2.The meat industry stands for around 17% of the worlds toxic gases that is being produced.

3.But the biggest reason that I realize more and more everyday, is that it forces me to be healthy. To be creative and find what my body needs in better ways.

Although, I kept eating the wrong things even if vegetables were better than meat (for my acid stomach).

Alternative food lifestyles

After school, the summer of 2009 I began to try out raw food. It means that you do not heat anything up and it is really good for you.But for me, it had too much carbohydrates even though my sugar was much better. The reason to why, although the carbohydrates will be explained later.

This was the flame that became a fire. I began to research and explore more foods and tried to learn and understand what it was all about.

Then I stumbled upon the low carb high fat diet. I think I got this from my sister who used it to lose the stomach from being pregnant. She did not want to lose weight, just become very fit. And oh, if she did!

I started to read about it and I saw that it was good for diabetics since fat has a very long and slow process to become blood sugar, while carbohydrates transforms very quick! Finally, I found a way to eat to help my glucose level and have an easier time with my diabetes!

Frequency healing

The results were very good and also my constantly worried stomach became happy and stable which helped me a lot in my everyday life.

Then, I got a job at a TV company in Stockholm and moved there for six weeks and it was hard to keep the diet with all the sweet free stuff they offered and the sandwiches and yogurt to breakfast.

After 3 or 4 weeks I went to a frequency healer that my mother had heard about. That was a very transforming meeting to say the least. A frequency healer is using a machine, created by a man from NASA(National American Space Association), that they are plugging in to their computer.

This machine is plugged to some rubber bands who you place around your wrists, ankles and forehead. Then, the machine calculates the frequencies you are sending out. This is scientifically proven to be true. The body sends out frequencies all the time and this machine can then scan them and see what frequencies are in tune and which are not.

I never had Diabetes?!

What we got out from that session was that I do not have diabetes. Keep in mind that I did not tell her anything about my condition or health before being given these results.

I had an infection in my pancreas and that is why I was not in need of insulin the first years. My pancreas was still working but fighting an infection and slowly became weaker and weaker. What she told me was that my stomach was the problem. It could not pick up all the necessary vitamins and minerals in order for my body to work.

Why couldn’t my stomach pick this up? Because it was too acid! It had to work against the acids instead of taking care of all the good stuff that came in to my body.

So, I got a medicine which was just different, perfectly normal herbs and plants mixed in to a liquid drink medicine.

I only had to use it until it was empty to boost the healing process. No need to drink it the rest of you life! Then she gave me tips and good websites that would show me how to eat and why and she answered all my questions with great knowledge!

I started to do this and just after a month I returned to see how my frequencies were doing and the results were amazing! All the lows or highs I had in different areas were stable and the infection was gone!

She said that it will take just as many months to recover totally as years I had this infection, which was 11 years. So after 11 months I would be fully recovered if I kept myself healthy and balanced of course.

This is the reason to why you see me talking about two diets. I am talking out from own experience and my experience is these two and they both helped me. I think a healthy mix of these two can really make a diabetics life easy and tasteful at the same time. Almost everyone in our society today is way too acid!

Now, It has been 6 months since I was at the frequency healer and I’ve been traveling central america for 4 months.

The same thing happened when I arrived at Costa Rica as a volunteer. The family gave us a lot of food with carbohydrates and we had already paid for it in advance. So I had to take it for what it was and eat and as you probably know, my glucose level went crazy again.

Now, I’ve been traveling on my own and I make my own food, I’m exercising and I now have more freedom than ever! I hope this story has inspired you and I hope my words will help your life as it has helped mine after all these years.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness Classes Help Decrease Risk for Tragedies

December 15th, 2011

While many online alcohol and drug prevention classes are intended for those who were, “busted by the cops,” the classes may adversely prove to be a very positive force in their life. It has the ability to cause a turn around for the substance abuser. This, indeed, is good for everyone.

Often times what one gets out of a circumstance is not what he/she initially thought was going to be the case. However, after being forced to take such a class in order to meet a court order, during the session may open one’s eyes to the true danger that alcohol and drug abuse can indeed cause. For the user and those around them. Ultimately, taking one of these classes could quite literally save the life of a the user, friend, family member, or stranger.

The number of deaths caused by driving under the influence, drug over dose, or alcohol poisoning has noticeably increased over the past decade. Each death is an unnecessary tragedy that could have been prevented if caught in time.

These classes bring about real life statistics and situations that have taken lives. It allows the student to pause and ponder the potential result of their actions if they do not seek the help needed to help them overcome their disease. While the online class does not take the place of a live physician and team of doctors to help the user deal with the problem, it does bring an awareness that help is needed. Accepting that fact is the first step toward seeking a cure.

Some substance abusers may even take note of their problem in private, but are not yet ready to go public with their problem. Earnestly seeking help online in private may be all that they can handle in the beginning. Thanks to online drug classes, this is possible. It can help them truly recognize the repercussion of their actions to self and others… as well as potential fatal accidents that may occur while under the influence. Once enlightened to the truth in a safe place, the possibility of their deciding to go the next step and seek ongoing help off line is hopeful. With any healing process, the first step is usually the hardest: no longer living in denial.

Asbestos Risk

December 9th, 2011

Asbestos risk is something that needs to be seriously considered. The first factor that you should consider is how much asbestos was in the air you breathed. The next factor to be considered is how long a time were you exposed. The more asbestos you breathe in the greater your risk of getting an asbestos- related disease such as Asbestosis or Mesothelioma. Some people are not very susceptible to asbestos. It is highly believed that cigarette smoking gives increased susceptibility to persons exposed to asbestos.

Family members living with exposed workers are also at risk due to asbestos fibers being brought home on clothing, skin and hair. The collapse and clean-up of the North Tower of the World Trade Center released hundreds of tons of asbestos into the air, as asbestos was heavily used in its construction. Thousands of people including clean-up workers and first responders were exposed.

Asbestos fibers can cause normal cells to turn malignant and these malignant cells spread. Asbestosis is a lung disease which causes pleural plaque (membranes surrounding the lungs) and also causes thickening of the Pleural. This causes chest tightness, shortness of breath, chest pain and coughing and eventually scars the lungs.

Low levels of asbestos are present in the air, water and soil; but most people do not get the disease from this small amount of exposure, although no asbestos exposure is safe. Asbestos risk is much higher in workers who are exposed to it regularly in their occupations, some of which include workers in mines, chemical plants, shipyards, oil refineries, power plants, automotive workers and construction sites. Exposure is not limited to the home or work place. There is also risk of exposure in schools and public buildings that are in need of repair.

Usually symptoms of asbestos exposure take many years to appear such as 10-40 years. However, no matter how soon after exposure, you should check with your doctor when any of the symptoms first appear.

Another asbestos risk is that of developing Mesothelioma, which is used to describe cancerous tumors involving the lining of the lungs, heart or stomach. This is a very serious disease. Therefore, you need to be aware of the symptoms and talk to your doctor about your concerns.

If your family member is the one with the asbestos risk, then you need to learn all the factors. You need to be the one to take action now, the sooner the better my friend.

Pregnancy and Varicose Veins

December 8th, 2011

PRE-PREGNANCY

Most women do not suffer from venous symptoms before pregnancy. The arterial system in a normal person is a high pressure and high energy system. The normal venous system is a low pressure and low energy system. This state allows for blood and its waste products to be transferred from the higher pressure system to the lower pressure system on the cellular level. When one of these states is diseased; a loss of pressure in the arterial system or an increase in pressure on the venous system; complications can arise. During pregnancy increased pressure from the fetus and all of the internal changes on the iliac veins in the abdomen and pelvis. This increased pressure along with hereditary disposition can cause damage to the valves in the venous system, resulting in complications that left untreated can become severe.

VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY

The human heart and the arterial system provide nutrient rich blood to all the cells in the body. It does this by the contraction of the heart muscle and the contraction of the medial layer of the arterial wall. The result is your pulse. The blood returns to the heart by a different system; the venous system. Blood flows back to the heart in the venous system two ways. The first is normal breathing. Each time you take a breath the pressure in the your abdomen increases and decreases; this pressure change pulls the blood into the abdomen and into the heart through the normal respiratory cycle. The second way to provide venous return to the heart is through muscle contraction. The calf of your leg is essentially the heart of the venous system. When the muscles contract the blood is pushed up the veins. One way valves in the veins prevent the flow back down the leg during periods of rest. The body has three times as many veins as it does arteries, and when the veins are working correctly provide excellent venous return. Gravity is working against the venous system increasing the hydrostatic pressure in the veins. When the valves become damaged or do not work correctly the venous flows in the wrong direction and is called venous insufficiency.

VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY AND PREGNANCY

The increased pressure in the pelvis during pregnancy causes increased pressure on the iliac veins. This increased pressure can cause the valves to not work correctly and results in venous insufficiency. Like children, pressure always finds the path of least resistance. The path of least resistance in veins are the branches of the main superficial venous system. As the pressure in the veins increases the size of the veins increases. The size of the vein increases causing more valves to not work correctly, resulting in a systematic failure of the venous system. The result is a high pressure venous system that can’t remove waste products effectively causing swelling, pain and visually distended veins or varicosities.

PREVENTION

Graduated medical compression garments have been used for years to aid the venous system. Maternity compression pantyhose are made to fit comfortably around the abdomen and provide graduated compression from the foot to the waste. The compression provides support to the venous system against the increased pelvic pressure and aid in the fight against gravity. One should wear light compression 8-15 mm Hg or 15-20 mm Hg at the beginning of pregnancy when the venous system is still healthy. Ask your physician what compression is best for you.

TREATMENT

Often with pregnancy everything is changing around the Mother, that the last thing that is of her concern is own leg health. It may only be noticed when the problems have already became obvious. In the case of severe edema she may be advised to elevate her legs and to wear maternity pantyhose of a higher compression. A physician will be able recommend the right compression based the symptoms presented. After pregnancy along with medical compression there are several advancements in the treatment of venous insufficiency.

Oxygen Concentrators At Home

November 23rd, 2011

Designed to provide an efficient method of oxygen, based on medical needs, the oxygen concentrator has been around for a little over ten years. The concentrator is designed to deliver processed air which meets required health standards, so that the patient can achieve their acceptable co2 levels. These machines can range from two to three LPM’s (litres per minute) and are considered as a safe alternative to the big and bulky co2 tanks.

Part of the design is the absorption of nitrogen in the air through zeolite, which can be found on board the unit, usually in a couple of cylinders. Most units function as cycles which run on an average of about 20 seconds, allowing for oxygen to flow continuously for the patient’s consumption. Units are designed to be compact and easy to move around in the patient’s home.

Oxygen is an important requirement of any human being, especially if they are under medical charge. Generally speaking, patients who suffer with COPD and other forms of respiratory disorder, require additional sources of oxygen to adjust for their own restrictive access. In these cases, patients can be sent home with oxygen-gas cylinders, liquid-oxygen devices or concentrators to help them survive. Patients with any of these oxygen devices can easily perform for many years into the future.

Without a steady source of good oxygen, the human body will die, just try holding your breath and you will see what happens. Oxygen is an important factor in keeping up the metabolism of cells, which can end up starving without it. Once the body takes in the available oxygen, it is usually dispersed within, primarily through the blood stream.

It is said that you never miss something until you lose it, that saying can easily be attributed to your oxygen levels. The problem with not enough oxygen in your body is this, you don’t always know that your body is being starved, that is until serious side effects begin to take place. Individuals, who visit the emergency room for any reason, are usually checked for their oxygen level and this can be done as easily as affixing a clothes pin like gadget on the end of one of your fingers.

An extended stay in the hospital can include an oxygen dispenser, which is usually in the form of two spouts, one in each nostril. The other end is usually affixed to a central line which draws from the main hospital dispenser. Once you are sent home, you may be prescribed with your own portable oxygen concentrator to continue the process.

Diabetes Food List – Healthy Eating for Type 2 Diabetes

November 17th, 2011

What is a diabetes food list?

Being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes is a life-changing event. One of the main challenges is making changes in your diet.

One of the first questions that almost every patient diagnosed with type 2 diabetes asks is “What am I supposed to eat now?”

What you eat is a very important part of maintaining blood sugars in the target range. If a type 2 diabetic has no idea what to eat, being able to control blood sugar levels will be near impossible.

The goal in treating type 2 diabetes successfully is to make lifestyle changes.

My strategy when explaining diet is to keep it simple.

Your mindset should be one of adapting changes that enhance your lifestyle. Find something that works well for you.

There are a lot of websites out there on the Internet touting one diet or another. Some even speak about being able to “reverse type 2 diabetes.”

Recently, the American Diabetes Association made some changes that make it easier for a newly diagnosed diabetic to get into action.

Do diabetes food lists really work?

In the past there was a lot of talk about ‘diabetes food lists’. Diabetes food lists were thought of as restrictive. It’s not likely that a patient is going to follow such a diet for a long time.

The fact is that the foods on a diabetes food list will work for anyone who is committed to a healthy lifestyle.

A diabetes food list helps people living with diabetes understand foods that help maintain the blood sugars within the target range. They will also help to reduce hyperglycemia.

There is a ton of information out there about what makes up a diabetes food list. It’s OK to follow these. But I recommend just using them as a guideline that will help you to adapt healthy food choices.

Here are some of the current recommendations on how to eat healthy while living with type 2 diabetes:

Create your plate

The American Diabetes Association recently did away with the diabetes food pyramid and adapted the “create your plate.” This is a strategy that makes it less overwhelming for someone just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes to get straight into action planning healthy meals.

So here are the steps to create a plate:

Take a standard sized dinner plate.
Divide it into three sections. Start by dividing in half. Then divide one of the halves in two. There you have three sections. Since it is divided into three sections, one section will be larger.
On the larger section of the plate, place you non-starchy vegetables such as broccoli, greens, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes etc.
On one of the smaller sections, place your starchy foods like rice (preferably brown rice), grains, corn, pasta, beans etc.
On the other small section place a serving of meat or a meat substitute such as turkey, chicken, fish etc.
On the side you may add an 8 oz. serving of milk. Or if you are lactose intolerant like a number of adults are, you can have some almond, soy or coconut milk. Water also works just fine.
Then a small serving of fruit. Preferably fresh fruit.

You have created your plate

Carbohydrate Counting

One of the important strategies for a person living with type 2 diabetes is to know the amount of sugars they are eating. This will help to reduce the complication of hyperglycemia.

Up till the mid 1990s, carbohydrates were touted as being bad for anyone with diabetes. Now we know that to not entirely be the case. Naturally everything, including carbohydrates, must be eaten in moderation.

A great tool is carbohydrate counting or “carb counting” as it is popularly called.

The strategy is to round up the total amount of carbohydrates that you are allowed in a day. And divide this equally among your meals – including snacks.

One of the advantages of carbohydrate counting is that it reduces the tendency for the blood sugar levels to fluctuate. This helps to prevent huge swings in insulin levels that could lead to fluctuations in blood sugar levels.

If you plan to use carbohydrate counting exclusively, then you may need the assistance of a nutritionist. They will help to customize a meal plan for you.

A good place to start is between 45-60 grams of carbohydrates per day.

Remember that carbohydrates are in starchy foods like breads, grains and pasta. They are also in fruits and vegetables, milk products.

Reading food labels makes it easier to measure how much carbohydrates you are getting in a meal.

What are Diabetes Super Foods?

The American Diabetes Association has a list of ten super foods that it recommends. I love the way that certain foods get tagged as “super foods.”

Just as I like to point out, these “super foods” should be a part of the diet of anyone looking to live healthy.

The added benefit for a diabetic is that these foods help to give extra nutrients and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. In addition they also contain powerful antioxidants.

These super foods help to not only control blood sugar levels. But also maintain the health of the cell membranes.

So here are the top ten super foods that everyone should be eating:

Berries of all kinds (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries etc.)
Dark leafy vegetables- such as spinach, kale and asparagus
Beans- all varieties. Beans are high in fiber and low in glycemic index
Fish particularly fish that is rich in omega 3 sources such as salmon, herring, sardines
Fat free milk & yoghurt
Nuts
Tomatoes
Sweet potatoes
Whole grains that have not been processed
Citrus fruits

Important Role of Tablet Machine Manufacturers

October 26th, 2011

A pharmaceutical dosage form involving a mixture of active substances and excipients that are pressed into a solid dose from a powder is termed as a tablet. While manufacturing a tablet, it is extremely important to ensure that each tablet contains an appropriate amount of active ingredient and that too in a well-mixed form. That is why, it is always recommended to take help from tablet machine manufacturers. In addition to high quality equipment, they also provide customers with support and other important services required in the direction to manufacture the right tablet.

Important role of tablet machine manufacturers will be discussed below in detail:

This is because most of the manufacturers today offer their services online. You can compare services of different manufacturers; types of equipment offered by them, their prices and then choose the one that suits you the best.

Eleven Gluten Free Foods to Keep in Stock

October 19th, 2011

Eating gluten free (GF) doesn’t need to be overwhelming!

Are you always missing an ingredient for your next gluten free meal or you don’t know what to make? If I could teach you to keep these items in stock you can create many tasty gluten free meals. You can create breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks with the list below. Some imagination and creation can be helpful if you normally were to grab and make meals with food that comes out of a box or using directly from a can.

The list of 11 gluten free foods that I list are what I consider to be a gluten free staple. Meaning that these are or can be part of the main gluten free meal. So with the 11 gluten free foods listed and a few things that you may have in your pantry, refrigerator or freezer you can create many great gluten free meals for the whole family.

So lets take a look at the 11 gluten free foods.

1. Gluten free pasta is great to keep on hand because pasta can be made into many different dishes. Gluten free pasta comes in many shapes and in different grains such as brown rice, white rice, corn and tapioca to name a few. Gluten free pasta can become as simple as spaghetti, cold pasta salads, a casserole, homemade soups and many more dishes.

2. Rice is a very versatile grain and found around the world. Most often you will see white rice, brown rice, long grain rice and wild rice. Due to nutritional value I would suggest brown rice over white rice.

Rice can make many different dishes from Mexican to Chinese and everything in between. For an evening feeling like Chinese you can use fresh vegetables and saute to your liking and pair it up with your brown rice. Have you ever craved Mexican food? Well simple to create a Mexican rice dish and serve it with corn shelled tacos. Rice can also be made into sweet dishes and or used in soup.

3. Quinoa is a great source of protein that is actually comes from the nut family. Quinoa can be found in regular or in flakes. Quinoa can be made like a hot breakfast cereal, into a main meal, or done in a cold or warm salad. This very versatile gluten free food can become a part of your meal in just minutes.

Quinoa flakes can be uses in place of part of a gluten free flour. Experiment with the quinoa flakes in your muffins, waffles and cakes. Quinoa does have a slightly “nutty” flavor so use a portion of the quinoa flake to the gluten free flour.

4. Gluten free flours are needed for making breakfast items, coatings on meat, thickener in sauces, and of course our baked items. Getting a flour blend can be done by you purchasing 3-4 gluten free flours and creating your blend or if your not much of a baker it might be easier to purchase a gluten free flour blend as you wouldn’t use it up as fast. It may also depend on the space you have to store the flour too. To have the gluten free flour blend ready at all times makes it a lot easier when you come home and your in a hurry, this way it will be ready for you.

5. Fresh fruit and veggies are naturally gluten free! I find that you can add to many main meal dishes with many veggies if you have them on hand and fresh has more nutrients. So don’t put so much stress on yourself keep them on hand for that meat, potatoes and veggie meal or a simple stir fry with some brown rice, big salad of greens with many other vegetable and fruits on top is excellent also. Fruits can be made into a smoothie, added to waffles or pancakes or added to cereal for a great breakfast. Fruits make a great breakfast, snack, desert and add in to many dishes so having those on hand fills lots of spots in the GF meal area. Fruits and vegetables also have lots of fiber. Fiber is great for the colon and also make you feel full.

6. Nuts make a great snack and is also great to add great crunch to a lettuce salad or cold pasta salad. Favorites are almonds, walnuts and pecans but there are many more to pick from than the 3 listed. Nuts are most nutritious is eaten in the raw form and free of salt. Nuts can be made into a great trail mix to have when you are busy or ready to add to salad.

7. Bread is often missed by those that need to go gluten free for health reasons. The GF bread has come along way in the last few years and can be pretty tasty. Gluten free bread freezes well for those that don’t eat much bread may find it goes bad faster so by freezing the bread it will save you some money because you wont be throwing it out after it has sat on your counter for just a few days.

Gluten free bread is needed for not only a sandwich. How about french toast or toast in the morning with fruit or eggs, with any meal, bread crumbs are also needed for some dishes or coatings on meats.

8. Cereal that is GF can be very expensive but has also come along way in just a couple of years. If you go to the natural section of the grocery store or a specialty store you will pay good money for a smaller box of gluten free cereal. Now the cereals in the regular isle of the store also has some gluten free cereal choices such as Chex, Rice Crispies, and Pebbles. Also don’t forget about the hot cereals that are gluten free such as Cream of Rice, Cream of Buckwheat, Certified Oatmeal, Quinoa make great hot cereal too.

Cereal is also great to have on hand for coating meat, used in bars, added to trail mix, or just to eat as cereal.

9. Eggs are naturally GF and are necessary for many dishes so keep them in stock in your house. Eggs are used in muffins and cakes but you also need them for many main dish meals. So main dish in the morning could of course be eggs, meat and gluten free toast. Also could be and omelet, egg bake dish, Quiche and then in our baked goods.

10. Beans or legumes are a great source of fiber. Beans are often found in Mexican dishes but there are many other ways to use beans. Think of adding beans to a potatoes dish, green salad, casserole, Chili and soups.

11. Oils that are great to saute and cook in are extra virgin olive oil and Grapeseed oil. They are a healthy choice and taste great with veggies in a salad or sauté.

So you may be wondering why I don’t have meat or dairy on the list. Well for all the foods listed above you can make great meals out of them with or without meat and dairy. I encourage you to get creative if you have not tried some of the things listed as they can be made into some great tasting dishes and usually in a few minutes if you have them stored and ready to go.
